Ink drawing - progress

Creating my major project, I decided to make a second piece using ink. During my progress, I didn't struggle with the process during the first steps. However, finalising this work troubled me a lot. At the beginning, I planned to create a piece placed on watercolour sheets, but I didn't consider how I would present it and I must place it on another surface. In this case I decided to take an MDF from the workshop and glue the watercolour sheets. I have tried every possible way, but I came off from the MDF. To stick watercolour sheets, I used many types of glue, such as tape and spray.

In creating this project, I used inconvenient tools, such as perfume bottles and acrylic sprays, while I worked on this project at home. Finalising the project I used sepia pastels to make my work more interesting, dynamic and chaotic, as it seemed dull in monochrome.

In this step of the progress I tested how would work perfume bottle with ink. Unexpectedly, the pump got broken and I had to order another one, which delayed my finalising the ink drawing.
When the bottles arrived I could start again and test new techniques and solution to improve my work.
I used paper pieces to create head shapes.
On the same session I used acrylic paints to create eyes and brushes to make facial features.
In this used white ink to create a gradient above the heads to visualise as the creature came out from the drawing.
In the last steps I placed them on MDF and used sepia pastel to include more colour in my work.

  1. I'd like you to show the small drawings you showed me in Week 6 tutorial on your portfolio as part of your project. You can show these in a separate gallery or with the paintings and large scale ink work. I think you should show the paintings as individual works and as a whole, include details as well to flesh out your portfolio.
