Zdzislaw Beksinski - Artist reserch

Zdzisław Beksiński was a Polish artist who created dark and surrealistic paintings featuring twisted figures, landscapes, and apocalyptic themes. His style was highly detailed and realistic, focusing on texture and tone, and he often used a limited colour palette. He often used a limited colour palette, mostly browns, greys, and greens. His work was inspired by his own personal struggles with depression and used the arts as a way to explore the darker aspects of the human psychological aspects. Beksiński also experimented with other forms of art, including sculpture and photography. He created a series of sculptures in the 1960s, which were inspired by the human form.

Some of his works also include religious motifs and iconography. Beksinski worked in mixed media, using oil paints and photography to achieve specific effects in his works. He often experimented with textures and layers, creating a sense of depth and dimension in his compositions. His technique and style evolved over time, but his overall aesthetic was characterised by a dark, creepy or disturbing.

Creating the project for art portfolio I have changed my mind deciding to repaint some of the paintings of the Polish artist into more disturbing and traumatising. Beksinski's artwork was the most significant factor in making this decision, and it was highly influential on the entire process of creating the outcomes. I have referenced all of my works to some of his. From the beginning of my journey with painting, the goal of mine is painting like Beksinski, so the main aspect of giving up on highly expressionistic paintings and try include more details in my works was his artwork.
