First thoughts about major project

Which theme are you most drawn to and why?

How do you think you can apply this theme to work in your own subject area?

What pops into your head first when considering this project?

Does it make you think of any particular artists and/or designers?

Seeing the three themes in the presentation, I decided to choose expressionism. Although the presented artworks made me consider Earthly delights as well. Earthly delights seem easier in planning, although finalising the project might be more complicated than expressionism based on my ideas. Considering this project, I decided to create paintings including many details and human bodies by using colours in dark tones. I haven't made the final decision about the theme of my project, but I'm considering sleep paralysis, lucid dreams or fear of crowds. In this project, I will be inspired by Salvador Dali, Harry Simmonds and Zdzislaw Beksinski.

    This needs more information and consideration, I don't think you have answered the questions in enough detail.

    If you are to improve on your results from the first term, more use of your study time (and not just working in the class) is necessary.

This post presents my first ideas about the new project for art portfolio 2. The sketches might be used while painting and sculpting the works for this project. Tell me a story

The story of my project will present the maximization of emotional expressions and feelings shown in the original pieces. The main idea of this project will be a recreation of the paintings from the Renaissance painted by Polish artists such as Jan Matejko and Lukasz Porebski. At this moment, I'm considering creating portraits of the people presented in their most famous paintings. The concept of this work is focusing on their facial expressions creating busy and messy backgrounds.

Reflection

This post presents my reflection on the second term for art portfolio: During the major project for Art portfolio, I struggled with many aspects of the process, and I can't say I'm fully satisfied with the final outcome as it still might be improved. However, I did my best during these few weeks. I searched the information about the artists, colours and sleep paralysis to present the topic correctly. I have created many side paintings and sketches that I'm satisfied more or less, but it helped me to improve my painting skill and general knowledge about creating. I searched for many helpful materials and used inconvenient tools to get closer to reaching the goal, which was created my best painting until now.  This subject was the most influential for me among the others.
