2D outcome - exercises

The presented works are my exercises for my major project, which helped me to improve my work and decide on the style of the outcomes.

Creating this piece, I used watercolours as I had left all of my tools at university. I have tested many techniques and thought about the composition of my work. Also, I have used a sepia pastel to check the best use of them in my outcome, although at this time, charcoal seemed a better option. I used a high amount of paint to receive a deep tone of black and richer tones colours as it has been placed on the art board.

Creating this piece, I was mostly inspired by Francis Bacon. I used some of the techniques that he used in his works, and I have tried to create a work based on the techniques and style presented in Screaming Pope.

Thinking about the project, I have changed the idea and improved my work by adding unusual shapes and changing the original works. In this exercise, I have tried to make a work where Stanczyk's head becomes massive and purple. In this work, I have tried to make it more depressive than the original. Although, I failed and finally got rid of this idea in my final outcome. In creating this painting, I used a different colour pallet of warm. I used sandpaper to make the painting more interesting and messy. However, I decided to change the concept for the final outcome as the painting seems like it needs to be better.

  1. Much better to hear about your process and some of the techniques, but be a bit more specific and use correct terms when talking about the work of others.
