Reflections

Image
Reflection on my major project Personally, I'm satisfied with the final project. There are a couple aspects of this project that may be improved during the following interior design project, but the entire process of creating the design made me realise that interior design is not a progression for me, and it helped me to make the decision to change it. In this project, the concept of clients opened my eyes, and I have noticed it's not as exciting as creating the work for myself with a free hand. I'm worrying continuing this progression may cause quick professional burnout for me, so I'm glad I could try myself in this kind of project before I will start the first year.

Draft of major project

This post presents the draft of my major project.  During the process, I found good perspectives to present my work. It may be slightly different in the final project as it's a draft. When I decide about the frames of my work, I will render it, and the final outcome will be available to see on the website in the portfolio section. Example of rendered photo To clarify the entire concept, I will use Adobe Photoshop to create a couple informative panels placed in a different section about the photo gallery in the portfolio section. Informing the viewers, for example, about measurements, materials or clients' requests. Example of one of the panels About photo galleries with informative panels and the design, I will place the concept panel explaining the main concept of this project. "Warehouse conversion or Loft conversion is the renovation of warehouses or historical buildings on functional properties. The first loft design was created in 60s New york. Many loft apartments ha...

Creation process of major project

Image
This post shows the creation process of my major project. The most important aspect of creating this project was the location and floor plan. I had to find the perfect places that would suit the standards of the clients and the general concept of my work. When I finally found it, I could start creating a floor plan. When it was done, I created a raw 3D model of an interior. Firstly, I placed the fundaments for the work such as floors, walls and a place for the mezzanine. The key to this work was to find a place with a high ceiling with a small measurement of the living area. When, the base for the project was done, I could start the next step. The next step of this project was windows. The apartment is placed in a historic building with massive windows. I got the issue that had to be solved. As I had no assets for this type of window and no time to create the new one, I figured that I could use a balcony door. I have changed their size and stuck each other to imitate the windows....

Software Test: Dimension

Image
For my major project, I decided to test the program that I will possibly use to create a 3D model. It calls Adobe dimension.  In testing the program, I have tested every functional aspect I may need during the process. Firstly, I have created a new working space to check the software options for my major project. I created a testing stage putting 3 shapes as an interior. Then, I check the available assets and import a few of them into the software testing stage. By testing the assets, I can change their size, location, colour and material they are made. I checked the materials I may need for my project and imported them to the testing project. At the end of the testing Adobe dimension, I added the light and changed the location to make the shadows. By using the quick render option, I could see the interior as the most comparable to the final render of an interior I have created to test the program. Also, the program gives the option to change the camera's location to get a better e...
